Phodong Monastery is situated in the northern part of the state of Sikkim. It lies at a distance of approximately 28 km from the capital city of Gangtok. One of the six most important monasteries of Sikkim, Phodong dates back to the early 18th century. However, the monastery that we see today is not the original one and was rebuilt. Presently, it boasts of being one of the most beautiful monasteries in the state and serves as the residence of approximately 260 monks.
The monastery also has a rich collection of some ancient murals. The annual festival at Phodang Gompa of India takes place on the 28th and 29th day of the tenth month of the Tibetan Calendar (usually December). The celebrations of the festival include the performance of religious dances by the monks.

一、時(shí)間分配
作文時(shí)間彈性很大，發(fā)揮好的同學(xué)30分鐘就可完成大小作文，發(fā)揮不好的同學(xué)可能一個(gè)小時(shí)還寫(xiě)不好，但一般情況下，需要將寫(xiě)作時(shí)間控制在50分鐘內，即小作文15分鐘，大作文35分鐘。寫(xiě)作過(guò)程可分為三個(gè)階段：
（1）審題（小作文2分鐘，大作文3分鐘）
一定要認真審題，定下大概寫(xiě)作方向，勾勒出文章的大概框架。很多英語(yǔ)基礎較好的同學(xué)考研寫(xiě)作未能取得高分，就是因為沒(méi)有仔細審題。有些同學(xué)擔心時(shí)間不夠，草草瀏覽題目，動(dòng)筆就寫(xiě)，而寫(xiě)完發(fā)現跑題了，寫(xiě)得再好也是不及格分。審題時(shí)確定文章的中心思想和每段的主題句，可以列出簡(jiǎn)短的寫(xiě)作提綱。
（2）寫(xiě)作（小作文12分鐘，大作文30分鐘）
應該把大部分時(shí)間用于寫(xiě)作。多數同學(xué)沒(méi)有時(shí)間打草稿，因此，動(dòng)筆之前應把句子考慮成熟，盡量少作改動(dòng)�？忌趥淇茧A段可按照時(shí)間要求多寫(xiě)幾篇文章，以便了解時(shí)間分配。
考試時(shí)，最好使用黑色的鋼筆或簽字筆，不要使用藍色、紅色筆，更不要使用鉛筆，最好不要使用涂改液。另外，一定要把作文寫(xiě)在答題紙指定區域內，不要寫(xiě)在試卷或草稿紙上。
（3）檢查（小作文1分鐘，大作文2分鐘）
如果想在寫(xiě)作中取得理想分數，一定要花一兩分鐘時(shí)間檢查文章，要檢查內容是否切題，論點(diǎn)是否明確，論據是否充分，結論是否合理，表達是否符合語(yǔ)域要求，語(yǔ)法是否正確，用詞是否貼切，拼寫(xiě)是否正確，標點(diǎn)是否得當等。修改時(shí)最好不要劃掉一句或一段重新寫(xiě)。
二、草稿VS提綱
有些考生出于卷面整潔的考慮，主張先打草稿，其實(shí)大可不必這樣做�？荚嚂r(shí)間很緊，如果將大部分時(shí)間用在打草稿上，可能會(huì )沒(méi)有時(shí)間將最后定稿的文章抄到答題紙上，造成不必要的丟分。
打草稿不值得推薦，但為避免大篇幅的改動(dòng)，考生可在動(dòng)筆前先列個(gè)提綱。列提綱的步驟是：首先確定文章的主題，尋找支持主題的事實(shí)、觀(guān)點(diǎn)；接著(zhù)思考如何引出主題、如何論證主題以及如何結尾；然后可用簡(jiǎn)單的提示性文字將思考確定后的寫(xiě)作思路表示出來(lái)。
三、詞匯攻略
由于詞匯量不足或者考試時(shí)情緒緊張，考生很可能會(huì )遇到一些意思不知道如何用英語(yǔ)表達的情況。遇到這種情況，千萬(wàn)不要使用漢語(yǔ)拼音代替英語(yǔ)表達，也不要自己創(chuàng )造詞語(yǔ)。
可以采取以下幾種方式應對這種困境：使用上義詞，如可以把saw和hammer寫(xiě)作tool；用從句進(jìn)行解釋說(shuō)明，如可以把數碼相機寫(xiě)作a camera that takes pictures without film；避開(kāi)自己不會(huì )寫(xiě)的'詞語(yǔ)，用自己熟悉的詞語(yǔ)重新構思。如果希望在考場(chǎng)上做到得心應手，考生需要下功夫熟練掌握基本詞匯的用法。
四、模板使用
模板是眾多考生關(guān)心的問(wèn)題。由于功課繁重，很多考生平時(shí)沒(méi)有時(shí)間進(jìn)行寫(xiě)作練習，只能寄希望于考前押題，結果屢戰屢敗。當前是一個(gè)圖文時(shí)代，根本不可能押中題目，考生應扎扎實(shí)實(shí)提高寫(xiě)作基本功，不能懷有絲毫的僥幸心理。
根據我們多年的教學(xué)經(jīng)驗，多數考生，尤其是英語(yǔ)基礎不太好的考生，很難短期內在英語(yǔ)寫(xiě)作方面取得質(zhì)的飛躍。如想取得寫(xiě)作及格分，記憶模板未嘗不可。
而根據我們的實(shí)戰經(jīng)驗，考前最多記憶兩個(gè)框架，即寫(xiě)作A節和寫(xiě)作B節各一個(gè)�？忌枰诳记翱偨Y出屬于自己的兩個(gè)獨特的寫(xiě)作框架，并按照框架各寫(xiě)至少5篇作文（題目不限），臨場(chǎng)前將其背熟，到考場(chǎng)上再根據具體的題目進(jìn)行現場(chǎng)發(fā)揮和創(chuàng )造。
四、注意事項
（1）卷面整潔
考官需要在很短的時(shí)間內判斷出文章質(zhì)量的優(yōu)劣，因此第一印象就顯得十分重要。字體娟秀、卷面整潔會(huì )讓考官眼前一亮，考官在閱讀文章的時(shí)候就會(huì )有一個(gè)好心情，潛意識里就會(huì )給你一個(gè)較高的分數。如果字跡潦草，卷面凌亂，無(wú)疑會(huì )引起考官的厭惡，從而影響成績(jì)。
（2）文章的脈絡(luò )
在第一印象之后，考官會(huì )迅速瀏覽你的文章，尋找那些符合高分標準的要素。如果考生的文章行文思路清晰、論據充足、論證充分，自然大大減輕了考官的工作量，使得考官能夠很快掌握考生的寫(xiě)作水平。
主要的段落需要有較強的層次感，使人可以快速抓住作者的思路，同時(shí)表現出作者分析、表達事物的能力。英文作文的行文還需要較強的連貫性，包括過(guò)渡句和過(guò)渡詞以及邏輯連接詞的運用等。
（3）閃光點(diǎn)
由于大部分考生對詞匯和句式的掌握都處于一般水平，在寫(xiě)作中能夠將詞匯和句型運用自如的人非常少，所以考生若能在文章中使用幾個(gè)精彩的詞匯、詞組和句式，不僅能夠為文章增色不少，還能更加吸引考官的眼球，取得更高的分數。
