新GRE考試改革有哪些應對策略
20xx年x月x日開(kāi)始將實(shí)行改革以后的GRE考試(以下簡(jiǎn)稱(chēng)新GRE)，其中語(yǔ)文部分變化較大。本文以語(yǔ)文部分新增的文本完成題(Text completion questions)為例說(shuō)明如何應對新GRE。
文本完成題對應一段文章，有1至3個(gè)空，每個(gè)空對應三個(gè)選項(只有整個(gè)段落僅包含一個(gè)空時(shí)，才出現五個(gè)選項)，與目前實(shí)行的GRE考試的填空題設置1－2空、每個(gè)空都對應五個(gè)選項不同。而且，目前的GRE考試的填空題強調詞匯的辨認與邏輯關(guān)系的把握。例如，
Number theory is rich in problems of an especially----sort: they are tantalizingly simple to state but----difficult to solve。
(A) cryptic.. deceptively中?華 考?試 網(wǎng)
(B) spurious.. equally
(C) abstruse.. ostensibly
(D) elegant.. rarely
(E) vexing ..notoriously
本題有兩個(gè)空，答案是E。本句的.意思是：“數論中所包含的大量問(wèn)題具有一種特別令人苦惱的性質(zhì)：它們陳述起來(lái)簡(jiǎn)單得誘人，但是解決起來(lái)又是出了名的難�！币龊帽绢}，必須認識題中的tantalizingly(逗引性地，誘人地)以及五個(gè)選項中、尤其是E選項中(vexing：令人苦惱的；notorious：臭名昭著(zhù)的；眾所周知的)的高級詞匯。此外，還必須理解冒號的作用(后半部分解釋前半部分)以及but所連接的前后兩個(gè)部分之間的邏輯關(guān)系。
與之不同，新GRE的填空題除了上述要求外，正確答案還必須考慮整個(gè)段落作為一個(gè)語(yǔ)篇的要求以及句子內部的邏輯關(guān)系。例如，
It is refreshing to read a book about our planet by an author who does not allow facts to be BLANK by politics:? well aware of the political disputes about the effects of human activities on climate and biodiversity, this author does not permit them to BLANK his comprehensive description of what we know about our biosphere. He emphasizes the enormous gaps in our knowledge, the sparseness of our observations, and the BLANK, calling attention to the many aspects of planetary evolution that must be better understood before we can accurately diagnose the condition of our planet。
Answer choices for question 1.

由首句中的冒號可知，前兩個(gè)空的答案應該是同義詞，符合要求的分別是overshadowed(掩蓋)與obscure(掩蓋)。至于第三個(gè)空，空格之前的and暗示要填的答案與前面的gaps(空白)和sparseness(稀少)屬于同一個(gè)語(yǔ)義場(chǎng)，即都表示“有不足”之義，有類(lèi)似貶義傾向的只有superficiality of our theories(我們理論的膚淺)，因此本段落的正確答案是：overshadowed、obscure與superficiality of our theories。注意：只要任何一個(gè)空選錯，整個(gè)段落的答案就算全部錯誤。
