BEC高級口語(yǔ)：尊嚴篇

　　It is not beneath your dignity to apologize to your subordinate.

　　向你的下屬道歉并不會(huì )有失尊嚴。

　　beneath your dignity 直譯過(guò)來(lái)就是：“在你的尊嚴下面”，這個(gè)短語(yǔ)的正確意思是：“有損你的尊嚴，有失尊嚴”。因此，當美國人說(shuō)"It is not beneath your dignity to apologize to your subordinate."時(shí)，他/她要表達的意思就是:"You won't lose face to apologize to your subordinate."、"You won't lose your dignity to make an apology to your staff."。
