My aunt Edith was a widow of 50， working as a secretary， when doctors discovered what was then thought to be a very serious heart ailment.
Aunt Edith doesn’t accept defeat easily. She began studying medical reports in the library and found an article in a magazine about a well-known heart surgeon， Dr. Michael DeBakey， of Houston， Texas. HE had saved the life of someone with the same ailment. The article said Dr. DeBakey’s fees were very high; Aunt Edith couldn’t possibly pay them. But could he tell her of someone whose fee she could pay?
So Aunt Edith wrote to him. She simply listed her reasons for wanting live: her three children， who would be on their own in three or four more years， her little-girl dream of traveling and seeing the world. There wasn’t a word of self-pity---only warmth and humor and the joy of living. She mailed the letter， not really expecting an answer.
A few days later， my doorbell rang. Aunt Edith didn’t wait to come in; she stood in the hall and read aloud: “Your beautiful letter moved me very deeply. If you can come to Houston， there will be no charge for either the hospital or the operation. Signed—Michael DeBakey.”
That was seven years ago. Since then， Aunt Edith has been around the world. Her three children are happily married. For her age， she is one of the youngest， most alive people I know----all because of an open heart surgeon who knew how to honor of his profession， and how to open his own heart.

Taking a look around，we can find examples with ease：a small computer is packed in a thick and heavy（又厚又重）carton，clothes are putted in a well-designed plastic bags（塑料袋）which printed various kinds of patterns and colors and so on.
What are the causes of this problem? On the one hand, in order to earn more economic gains(經(jīng)濟收益), a considerable number of （很多）manufactures usually wrap their products with unnecessary but appealing (吸引人的)materials aiming at attracting customer’s attention , arousing their curiosity and then stimulating their purchasing desire （吸引顧客的注意力并引發(fā)他們的'好奇心）. On the other hand, quite a few customers believe that the more delicate the package seems，the superior the quality will be（包裝越精美，產(chǎn)品質(zhì)量就越好）,the notion has also encouraged the trend of excessive packaging. However, the emergence of excessive package（過(guò)度包裝） has given rise to（導致）many undesirable consequences that can’t be neglected （不容忽視）. For one thing，it is a waste of precious and limited natural resources，which will thus pose underlying (潛在的) threat to our offspring generation（子孫后代）. For another, customers are often deceived by artificial external packing rather than being provided with high-quality goods .
To change this situation, I think we should take the following measures. First, laws must be made and implemented to impose restriction on （實(shí)行限制） excessive packaging. Second, a public education campaign should be launched to arouse customers’ consciousness （意識） that packaging doesn’t equal to quality, and also let them know the bad impact of it. Only in this way can we put an end to this trend （結束這種趨勢）.

however、it’s even worse if one can’t drag himself out of the grief in that mental break-down is more serious than the disaster itself. instead of indulging oneself in sadness, one should take positive attitude towards life and contribute to the reconstruction of his or her life and hometown.
as for me, if i am lucky enough to survive in a disaster, i will try my best to help those who are suffering by donation blood or money. if i am a victim, i will endeavor to recover from the sadness as soon as possible and be certain to be strong and supportive to the recovery work.
