中國政法大學(xué)外國語(yǔ)學(xué)院成立于2002年6月，其前身是1994年9月成立的中國政法大學(xué)外語(yǔ)系。學(xué)院的歷史可追溯到1952年，學(xué)校設立了外語(yǔ)組，至1979年成立了外語(yǔ)教研室，后隨著(zhù)法大辦學(xué)規模的擴大，于1987年6月設立外語(yǔ)教學(xué)部，1994年成立外語(yǔ)系，至2002年正式建成外國語(yǔ)學(xué)院。
　　學(xué)院下設英語(yǔ)系、德語(yǔ)系和公共外語(yǔ)教學(xué)部等三個(gè)教學(xué)單位，教授語(yǔ)種包括英語(yǔ)、德語(yǔ)、日語(yǔ)、俄語(yǔ)、法語(yǔ)和意大利語(yǔ)等。學(xué)院承擔了全校的大學(xué)外語(yǔ)教學(xué)、研究生公共外語(yǔ)教學(xué)、英語(yǔ)、德語(yǔ)兩個(gè)本科專(zhuān)業(yè)基礎課和專(zhuān)業(yè)課教學(xué)任務(wù)，以及英語(yǔ)、德語(yǔ)、俄語(yǔ)和法語(yǔ)等四個(gè)語(yǔ)言文學(xué)碩士研究生的培養工作。英語(yǔ)本科專(zhuān)業(yè)實(shí)行五年雙專(zhuān)業(yè)（英語(yǔ)、法學(xué)）學(xué)士學(xué)位培養模式；德語(yǔ)本科專(zhuān)業(yè)為推薦優(yōu)秀本科生免試攻讀法學(xué)碩士研究生的示范專(zhuān)業(yè)；公共外語(yǔ)教學(xué)部的《大學(xué)英語(yǔ)》成為全國大學(xué)英語(yǔ)教改示范課程，基于網(wǎng)絡(luò )環(huán)境下的全方位立體化教學(xué)模式成果顯著(zhù)。學(xué)生在市級以上英語(yǔ)賽事中屢獲佳績(jì)。
　　學(xué)院擁有大學(xué)英語(yǔ)研究中心、德國文化研究中心、法律翻譯研究中心和法律英語(yǔ)教學(xué)與測試研究中心等四個(gè)學(xué)術(shù)機構，形成了較為完整并具有一定規模的外語(yǔ)學(xué)科科研體系。學(xué)院現有教師84人，教授11人，其中具有博士學(xué)位的教師22人，碩士以上學(xué)位教師占教師總數的90%。教師多次承擔國家級、省部級、市級和學(xué)校資助的科研項目，發(fā)表了一批專(zhuān)著(zhù)、譯著(zhù)、論文和教材。
　　學(xué)院廣泛開(kāi)展國際學(xué)術(shù)交流，先后與國內多所大學(xué)和教育機構建立了友好合作關(guān)系，定期邀請國內外知名專(zhuān)家、學(xué)者來(lái)院講學(xué)，開(kāi)展學(xué)術(shù)研究。同時(shí)，學(xué)院積極與國內高校、企業(yè)、出版社和律師事務(wù)所等單位合作，建立了多所學(xué)生實(shí)習基地。
　　秉承“中外并蓄、德業(yè)兼修”的院訓，堅守“開(kāi)放辦學(xué)、嚴謹治學(xué)”的辦學(xué)理念，外國語(yǔ)學(xué)院以培養傳承中西文化，語(yǔ)言基礎扎實(shí)、知識結構完善、具有跨文化交流能力的“外語(yǔ)＋法律”的復合型人才為育才目標，成為法大法律外語(yǔ)人才的培育基地，是提升法大國際化辦學(xué)水平的重要生力軍。
　　 
　　Introduction to the School of Foreign Languages of CUPL
　　The School of Foreign Languages of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) was founded in June 2002. Its predecessor was the English Department of CUPL founded in September 1994. The origin of the School can be traced back to 1952 when the English Teaching Group was established, superseded by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Section in 1979 and by the Foreign Language Department in June 1994.
　　The School has under it: the English Department, the German Department and the Department of College Foreign Language Teaching, covering languages of English, German, Japanese, Russian, French and Italian. The School is in charge of foreign language teaching for non-English majors of undergraduate and post-graduate students in CUPL. It is also responsible for the teaching of English major and German major undergraduates as well as for the postgraduates of English language and literature, German language and literature, Russian language and literature and French language and literature.
　　English majors can apply for five-year-study for B.A. with two majors (English and Law); and outstanding German majors can be recommended for graduate study of law without entrance examinations. The course of College English has become the model course under teaching reform in the country. By applying all-directional teaching model based on network environment, the School has improved teaching efficiency, and encouraged students’ autonomous learning. The best evidence is the numerous awards won by the students in English contests above city-level.
　　The School has four research centers: the Research Center of College English, the Research Center of German Culture, the Research Centre of Legal Translation and the Research Centre of Legal English Teaching and Testing. The School now has a staff of 84 people, among whom 11 are professors, 22 hold doctor degrees. The staff have been in charge of or participated in a series of research projects funded by the nation, ministries, the city or the university and produced some high-quality publications.
　　The School has carried out some international academic exchanges and has established friendly cooperation with some domestic and foreign universities and educational institutions. It regularly invites experts and scholars from home and abroad to lecture and conduct researches. In addition, it has cooperated with some universities, enterprises, publishers and law firms to establish internship bases for the students.
　　By carrying on the School motto of “valuing both Western and Chinese culture and cherishing both morality and scholarship” and upholding the School-running idea of “openness and high standards”, the School takes its goal to nurture talents with strong language skills, sound legal knowledge structure and cross-culture communication capability. It plays an important role in bringing CUPL into a more international university.
