如何用英語(yǔ)翻譯不確定的數字?
1 表示大約數目
大約數目指的是圍繞特定數目、以及比特定數目或多或少的數目。漢語(yǔ)在數詞前加“約”、“約 計”、“大約”、“大概”等詞，或在數詞后加“左右”、“上下”等詞表示。英語(yǔ)在 數詞前加 about, around，some，approximately，roughly，more or less，in the neighbourhood of等詞或詞組，或在數詞后加or so，or thereabout，in the rough等詞組表示，例如：
a) about/around five o’clock大約五點(diǎn)鐘/五點(diǎn)鐘左右
b) about/around/some/approximately/roughly/more or less/in the neighbourhood of twenty people 大約二十人/二十人左右
2 表示“少于”的數目
表示比特定數目少或小的數目，漢語(yǔ)在數詞前加“少于”、“小于”、“低于”、“不到”、“不 及”、“不足”等詞，或在數詞后加“以下”、“以?xún)?rdquo;、“以里”等詞表示。英語(yǔ)在數詞前加fewer than， less than，under，below，within等詞或詞組表示，例如：
a) fewer than/less than/under/below/within one thousand yuan少于一千元/不到一千元/一千元以下
b) below zero degrees Celsius 攝氏零度以下
3 表示“差不多”的數目
差不多，是一種特殊的表 示“少于”的數目的方法，接近特定數目或僅差一點(diǎn)。漢語(yǔ)在數詞前加“近”、“將近”、“接近”、“幾乎”、“差不多”、“差一點(diǎn)”、“差一點(diǎn)不到”等詞表 示。英語(yǔ)在數詞前加nearly，almost，toward，close on等詞或詞組表示， 例如：
a) nearly/almost/toward fifty years old將近五十歲/差一點(diǎn)五十歲
b) nearly/almost/close on one hundred yuan將近一百元/差不多一百元
4 表示“多于”的數目
表示比特定數目多或大的數目，漢語(yǔ)在數詞前加“多于”、“大于”、 “高于”、 “超過(guò)”等詞，或在數詞后加“多”、“來(lái)”、“幾”、“余”、“以上”等詞表示。英語(yǔ)在數詞前加more than ，over，above，upwards of等詞或詞組表示，或用在數詞后加and more，odd，and odd等詞或詞組表示，例如：
a) more than/over/above/upwards of a hundred yuan one hundred yuan and more/odd/and odd一百多元/一百來(lái)元
b) above thirty-two degrees Fahrenheit華氏32度以上
5 表示“介于"的數目
表示介于兩個(gè)特定數目之間 的數目，漢語(yǔ)用“到”、“至”等詞連接兩個(gè)數詞，或用“介于…之間”表示。英語(yǔ)用from…to;(anywhere)between…and…表示，例 如：
a) from five to six days; between five and six days五至六天
b) from eight hundred to nine hundred kilometres anywhere between eight hundred and nine hundred kilometres(介于) 八百到九百公里 (之間)
6 表示“相鄰”的數目
連用兩個(gè)相鄰的數字，表示一個(gè)不確定數目。英語(yǔ)用or連接兩個(gè)相鄰數字來(lái)表示。注意“三三兩 兩”是特殊的“相鄰”的數目。表示“兩個(gè)或兩個(gè)以上”等，英語(yǔ)在數詞后加or more表示， 例如：
a) two or three兩三個(gè)
b) sixty or seventy六七十
c) three thousand or four thousand三四千
d) by twos and threes 三三兩兩
e) two or more兩個(gè)或兩個(gè)以上
7 表示“數十”等數目a
表示“數十”、“數百”、 “數千”等不確定數目，英語(yǔ)在ten/dozen/score/hundred/thousand/million/billion等數詞的復數形式后加 of 構成，例如：
a) tens of(20—99);dozens of(24—99); scores of(40-99) 數十/幾十/好幾十
b) hundreds of (200—999);several hundred 數百/數以百計/幾百/好幾百/成百
c) thousands of (2，000—9，999);several thousand 數千/數以千計/幾千/好幾千/成千
d) tens of thousands of (20，000—99，999) 數萬(wàn)/數以萬(wàn)計/幾萬(wàn)/好幾萬(wàn)
e) hundreds of thousands of (200，000—999，999) 數十萬(wàn)/幾十萬(wàn)/好幾十萬(wàn)
f) millions of (2，000，000—9，999，999) 數百萬(wàn)/幾百萬(wàn)/好幾百萬(wàn)
g) tens of millions of (20，000，000-99，999，999) 數千萬(wàn)/幾千萬(wàn)/好幾千萬(wàn)
h) hundreds of millions of (200，000，000-999，999，999) 數億/幾億/好幾億
i) 數十億/幾十億/好幾十億 billions of(2，000，000，000—9，999，999，999)
