1. contrive v. 謀劃;圖謀;設法想到
contrive to do sth. 設法做某事;(不顧困難地)促成某事
manage to do sth 也表示設法做某事，說(shuō)的時(shí)候已經(jīng)成功做到，而contrive to do sth 通常說(shuō)的時(shí)候還沒(méi)有實(shí)行。
It was said that Osama bin Laden contrived to attack four cities of America before he died.
據說(shuō)本拉登死前計劃襲擊美國四個(gè)城市。
2. converge v. 會(huì )合;聚集 (meet at a common point)

5. dazzle v. 眩目;(美貌、技能、知識等)使贊嘆不已
The sunlight dazzles me.
