《百萬(wàn)英鎊》是講一個(gè)貧窮、誠實(shí)的人，也就是這個(gè)故事的主人公收到了一對兄弟的信，信里裝著(zhù)百萬(wàn)英鎊。原來(lái)這對兄弟打了一個(gè)賭，賭如果一個(gè)貧窮、誠實(shí)的人收到天上掉下的.一百萬(wàn)英鎊，他會(huì )有怎樣的結果?哥哥認為他會(huì )餓死，因為他無(wú)法證明這些錢(qián)是他自己的，而且會(huì )受到別人的懷疑，就連銀行都不會(huì )讓他存錢(qián)。弟弟卻認為他會(huì )過(guò)得很好。于是他們兄弟倆將一百萬(wàn)英鎊的支票借給了這個(gè)貧窮又誠實(shí)又聰明的人，并出國呆了一個(gè)月。沒(méi)想到在這段時(shí)間里，人們對這位突然暴富的罕見(jiàn)富翁，竟拼命地拉攏他，從免費吃飯，買(mǎi)衣服，到免費住宿，一個(gè)個(gè)像乞丐一樣討好他，并不斷提高他的社會(huì )地位，一直到了除王室外最高的公爵之上!不光如此，他還得到了一位好妻子和三萬(wàn)英鎊的銀行利息，最后還從兩兄弟那兒得到了一份很好的工作，過(guò)著(zhù)非常非常幸福的生活。

Today we met at the bus stop early in the morning.
