There is no denying the fact that keeping pets is a hotly debated topic today. Some people claim that keeping pets is a good thing to do. They believe that pets, like cats and dogs, can help relieve the loneliness suffered by senior citizens and other social members who are confined to their homes for this reason or that. They also argue that keeping pets helps mankind understand animals’ world and develop positive feelings toward them.
Others, however, hold the opposite view. They regard keeping pets as a useless but harmful thing to do. First, pets can transmit diseases. Secondly, the noises and dung of pets are sources of pollution. Last but not least, as many rare birds and animals are kept as pets, they will surely be hunted on a large scale, which means a threat to the balance of the ecosystem.
Weighing the arguments of both sides, I am inclined to agree with the latter. Anyway, we can lessen our loneliness and express our love toward animals in other ways. And it is my belief that only by placing man and other species on an equal basis can we expect to have a lively and colorful world.

Some students think it's a good idea to keep pets because many old people who live alone at home can get some comforts from pets. Besides, getting along well with animals will make our life interesting. On the contrary the other students are against the idea. In their opinion if too many people keep pets at home, it's bad for the environment. What is worse, pets may make too much noise and even attack people.
I like animals, so I don't think it's bad to keep pets at home. But we must take some measures to prevent them from polluting our environment.

Some people disagree this fact of keeping pets in dormitory，they think the dormitory is public space， students should build a good dormitory environment，the presence of the pet can increase of security risk。 In the meantime the reason people object to keeping pets is because many students will abandon their pet after they graduate from the university，so that many university have a large number of stray pets。
Other people think that students keep the pets in dormitory should not be condemned。They think the student have the right of keep pets and many pets won’t be have negative effects on other students in dormitory。
In my opinion，if the university allows the students keep pets and the dormitory have the proper condition，the students can keep pets in the dormitory。If the university prohibits keeping pets or other roommates are disagree with keeping pets， the student can’t broke the rule。All in all，when we do something，we should proceed from the reality。

現在，人們在家中養寵物的現象很普遍。人們擔心到底在家養寵物好不好。一些人認為在家養寵物可以帶給我們快樂(lè )，并且在某些特殊情況下可以幫助我們。但是，一些人認為養寵物會(huì )浪費時(shí)間和金錢(qián)。就我來(lái)說(shuō)，我認為養寵物能帶給我們快樂(lè )。原因如下：
First of all, we won’t feel so lonely if we keep pets. For most people, they are working outside while they don’t have any companions by their side. Hence, if they raise pets, then they can play with pets rather than stay alone. Besides, most people deem pets as their best friends. When people feel depressed, then they can talk to their pets to relieve themselves.
首先，我們養寵物不會(huì )感到孤單。許多人都在外面工作，沒(méi)有同伴在身邊。但是，如果養寵物的話(huà)，他們就不會(huì )自己呆著(zhù)，而是有寵物相伴。而且，人們也會(huì )把寵物視為自己的好朋友，當感覺(jué)到難過(guò)的`時(shí)候，寵物不會(huì )讓他們太難過(guò)。
Secondly, pets can help us in some special cases. You can ask your pets to do certain things for you to some extent. For example, we have many trained dogs that can guide the blind people to anywhere they want as if those dogs are their eyes.
第二，在一些特殊情況下，寵物可以幫助我們。在一定情況下，你能讓你的寵物幫你做一些事情。例如，盲人會(huì )有導盲犬，像是盲人的眼睛一樣，導盲犬可以帶他們到任何他們想去的地方。
All in all, keeping pets at home benefits us a lot. When we are depressed, pets can make us happy. What’s more, pets can help us in certain situations.
總之，在家養寵物能讓我們獲益良多。當我們郁悶的時(shí)候，寵物能讓我們開(kāi)心起來(lái)。而且，寵物在某些情況下能幫助我們。
